New Patient Information
Thank you for your interest in becoming a new patient. Please call our office at 512-732-9975 to schedule an appointment with Dr. Shippy.
Note – our office is typically closed on Fridays. (If you leave a voice mail on Friday we will get back to you the next business day).
What to expect on your first visit?
- We ask that you allocate two-three hours for the initial consultation.
- I will review all supplements and medication you are currently taking, so please bring these with you to your initial consultation.
- I will address the specific health concerns you are experiencing in addition to completing a thorough personal history assessment.
- I will conduct a general physical, review your family history, analyze any previous lab work you can share and evaluate any supplements/medications you are currently taking.
- Please bring any pertinent documents from any and all physicians you’ve previously seen to your first visit.
My office will make copies of any documents you provide. In this initial appointment, I will likely make supplement and nutritional recommendations, order blood work and other specialized tests and explain in detail the steps and plan for you. I will address all of your health questions and concerns, as we begin our partnership and work toward achieving optimal health for you.
What to expect on follow up visits? Your follow up visit is usually within 4-6 weeks period after your initial consultation. During follow up visits I will address the following:
- Review test results
- Answer questions
- Review your progress
- Make any recommendations to your current health plan
Please expect at least an hour for the first follow-up visit (it can go longer, depending on how many tests you do), other follow ups are typically 30 minutes to an hour.
When in our office we ask that you refrain from wearing perfumes, colognes or other strong essential oils – we have fragrant sensitive staff and patients. Please arrive a 15 minutes early to fill out the paperwork in our office OR download, print and fill out the forms (below) to save time.

A: As I mentioned in the above paragraph, I’ll spend two hours with you to dive deeper into what you are experiencing and how you’re feeling. More importantly, if we can gather as much history as possible, we can accomplish even more, together. I hope you will find my style is soothing, attentive and engaged. Sometimes our conversations will spark deeper emotion. Your health can be emotional. My hope is to work together and guide you to finding your blueprint to health.
A: I don’t accept any form of medical insurance or Medicare/Medicaid. However, my clinic and office staff will provide you with an itemized bill that includes ICD-10 and CPT codes necessary to file with your insurance company (Medicare excluded) for reimbursement. You may also use pre-tax dollars from a Health Savings Account (HSA) to pay for your consultations.

A: My rate for new patient appointments is $2,500. Follow up appointments are $720 per hour. We accept cash, checks and all credit cards except AMEX. Payment is expected at the time of service.
