I prefer to call a dessert a #SmartSplurge, meaning that you can treat yourself using healthful ingredients and still not abandon your principles. This fragrant homemade treat can satisfy your sweet tooth and leave you guilt-free afterward!
INGREDIENTS
- Crust:
- ¾ cup coconut flour
- 2 eggs
- 1/3 cup coconut oil, melted
- 1 tbsp Paleo Powdered Sugar *recipe below
- Frangipane:
- 5 tbsp coconut oil
- ½ cup coconut sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 ¼ cup almond flour
- Toppings:
- 1-2 organic apples, sliced
- Paleo Powdered Sugar
- 1 cup coconut sugar
- 2 tsp tapioca powder
- Blend ingredients in a blender until it forms a powder
INSTRUCTIONS
Preheat oven to 350F. Place crust ingredients in a stand mixer and combine until a crumbly dough forms. Wrap dough in wax paper and place in the fridge for 30 minutes. Take dough out and press into your tart pan. Prick your crust with a fork all over and bake for 10 minutes. Remove from oven and begin making the frangipane. Combine frangipane ingredients in your cleaned out stand mixer. Pour into a tart pan and top with sliced apples. Bake for another 10-15 minutes or until it turns golden brown and cooked through. Sprinkle with paleo powdered sugar and cut into slices.
